Course Overview:

Ethics in Engineering is a difficult subject, with many contradicting guidelines that make proper application a challenge. The course material reviews the National Society of Professional Engineer’s Code of Ethics as well as the Code of Professional Conduct required by Professional Engineering Boards in the Northwest. The class participants will serve as judge and jury on actual historical ethical conflicts cases. Group discussion of conflicting guidelines will be addressed for better understanding of the guidelines. This class qualifies for continuing education credits for professional engineers.

Course Objectives:

  • Identify Fundamental Canons of the NSPE Code of Ethics.
  • Identify Code of Professional Conduct in various Northwest States.
  • Adjudicate ethical conflicts.
  • Identify sources of ethical authority.

Course Schedule:

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and the class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon breaks, will be provided.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted, with full refund, if request is made at least 30 days prior to the course. Within 30 days, fees are as follows: 15-29 days, $100; 1-14 days or "no show," 100 percent of registration fee. When possible, please send a substitute instead of canceling. NWPPA does not charge a fee for substitutions.

Continuing Hours:

This course qualifies for 6 continuing hours. Certificates are issued upon full completion of the course.
