Who Should Attend:

Records managers, records coordinators, administrative assistants, executive assistants, and anyone managing records for their department.

Meeting Overview:

The Oregon Utilities Records Management Group will meet at the Oregon State Archives Building. At this meeting you will hear from the Office of State Archives on disaster preparedness, listen to a presentation from the new Oregon Public Records Advocate, and take a tour of the State Archives building in Salem. A good portion of the day will be spent discussing records policies and procedures. If your utility has a records policy/program, please bring copies to the meeting to share, and be ready to discuss how and why the policy was implemented. At the end of the day we will set the meeting date for the spring 2019 meeting and brainstorm topics.

    8:30-8:40 a.m. Welcome

    8:40-10 a.m. Disaster Preparedness and Public Records

      Matthew Brown, Records Management Analyst, Secretary of State Archives Division, State of Oregon

    10-10:15 a.m. Break

    10:15-11:45 a.m. Discuss/share records policies and retention practices

    11:45 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch

    1-2:15 p.m. Tour of State Archives building

    2:15-3:15 p.m. Discussion with the Oregon State Public Records advocate

      Ginger McCall, Public Records Advocate, Secretary of State Archives Division, State of Oregon

    3:15-4 p.m. Roundtable discussion

    4 p.m. Closing and discussion of the next meeting (when, where, topics, evaluations)

Meeting Schedule:

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and the meeting will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon breaks, will be provided.

Member Registration Fee: $0

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted, with full refund, if request is made at least 30 days prior to the course. Within 30 days, fees are as follows: 15-29 days, $100; 1-14 days or "no show," 100 percent of registration fee. When possible, please send a substitute instead of canceling. NWPPA does not charge a fee for substitutions.
