Who Should Attend:

Line and substation personnel and distribution engineers who have responsibility for distribution and transmission substations. Pre-requisite: This class assumes students have some experience working with substation prints. If not, students must take the Substation Series: Overview and Inspections class where basic print reading will be covered.

Course Overview:

This one-day class is intended to provide an overview of electrical print reading in electrical substations. Emphasis will be placed on reading online diagrams, three-line diagrams, and schematic drawings of substation equipment and interconnection drawings. Other topics that will be covered include:

  • Current transformers
  • Potential transformers
  • Substation transformers
  • Revenue meters
  • Protective relays

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and the class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon refreshments, will be provided.
