Course Overview:
This one-day course helps you understand the aspects of electrical safety so you can create safer work environments and reduce the risk of electrical incidents. Covering safety standards such as OSHA 1910 Part S and NFPA 70E, you will discuss best practices for protecting both electrical and non-electrical workers from common hazards. Other topics to be covered include:
- The dangers associated with arc-flash incidents and the importance of proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
- The correct use of electrical meters and testing equipment.
- The implementation of lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to control hazardous energy during maintenance activities.
- Confined spaces, including identifying, and mitigating the unique hazards present in power generation facilities.
- Grounding and current flow in grounded systems to prevent electric shock and ensure the proper operation of protective devices.

Note: Organizations that register a group of employees will receive every fifth registration for free. For example, if you register five employees, you only pay for four; register 10 employees, you only pay for eight; and so on. There is nothing additional you need to do to receive this discount.
Cancellation Policies:
For in-person events: cancellation at least 30 days prior to the event, full refund; within 15-29 days, $100 fee; and within 1-14 days or no show, 100% of the registration fee.
