Course Overview:

This highly interactive one-day course teaches electric cooperative directors skills for creating alignment and agreement in the boardroom by fostering open dialogue around high-stakes, emotional, or risky topics—the issues that face electric cooperatives today. Using real-world co-op examples, directors will practice speaking for clarity and purpose; encourage others to do the same; and analyze the best ideas to make the highest-quality decisions with the goal of acting on issues with unity and commitment.

  • Speaking persuasively, not abrasively
  • Fostering teamwork and better decision making
  • Building acceptance rather than resistance
  • Resolving individual and group disagreements

Course Schedule:

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and the class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon breaks, will be provided.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted, with full refund, if request is made at least 30 days prior to the course. Within 30 days, fees are as follows: 15-29 days, $100; 1-14 days or "no show," 100 percent of registration fee. When possible, please send a substitute instead of canceling. NWPPA does not charge a fee for substitutions.

Continuing Hours:

This course qualifies for six continuing hours. Certificates are issued upon full completion of the course.
