Overview:
This workshop combines two Manager as Leader Series courses: Own Your Role and Build Thriving Relationships. The Manager as Leader Series is designed to ignite, inspire, and nurture the leader mindset within you. To complete the series, you must attend four of the available six courses.
The first day will explore leadership as a choice and encourage you to own the choice, own the transition, and own the role. No skills, techniques, or methods will have lasting impact until you clarify who you are and why you intend to lead others at work.
Building thriving relationships is the focus of the second day. Leadership happens in the context of relationships. This segment will help you identify and proactively manage the relationships that matter most to you in your role as a leader. Building relationships of trust and respect is central to your success as a leader.
At the completion of this two-day workshop, you will have a clear definition of your role as a leader, a plan for growing your leadership success, and skills and methods to build important relationships.
Objectives:
- Gain clarity on why you desire to lead and how you intend to grow as a leader.
- Create and articulate your vision, philosophy, and growth plan as a leader.
- Use the DiSC profile to clearly describe your own values, strengths, and working style.
- Apply the SLII model to specific leadership situations facing you.
- Identify the relationships that matter most in your leadership role.
- Assess and strengthen key working relationships.
- Effectively match your leadership approach to the needs of those you are leading.
- Describe the business you are in and how you can best contribute to that business.
- Effectively clarify work expectations for yourself and for those you lead.
