Distribution Dispatching: AC Electrical Theory

Date(s):
January 21, 2016
Venue:
Courtyard by Marriott Columbia Point
Description:

Who Should Attend:

Dispatchers, electrial engineers, field engineers, electrical planners, linemen, and foremen/supervisors.

Course Overview:

The class is designed to increase your understanding of the electrical theory involved in maintaining and analyzing electrical circuits for distribution lines. Starting with parallel and series resistors, the class will cover combination circuits involving resistors, inductors, and capacitors. During the class, we will review the mathematics and theory of A.C. circuits; angles and degrees; inductance and inductive reactance; capacitance and capacitive reactance; line impedance series and parallel phase angles; impedance triangle; and power factor triangles. Power and energy in single-phase and three-phase AC circuits will be covered.
