Course Overview:

This webinar will cover the mental disorders that fall under the protection of ADA and an interactive process you can use to determine if an employee is entitled to reasonable accommodation due to a disorder.

During the webinar, you will learn the answers to these questions:

  • What fits into the ADA category?
  • Are stress, anxiety, and mental disorders covered under ADA law?
  • What should you do if an employee claims accommodation?
  • How do you determine the validity of a claim?
  • What if this accommodation would create a hardship for the organization?
  • How do you plan for the next steps?
  • How can you manage the legal risks?

Course Schedule:

The webinar will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Attendees will be admitted to the webinar after 1:45 p.m. Instructions for the webinar will be emailed to attendees 24 hours before each webinar.

How to Participate:

This is an online webinar program, which means you can participate from your office by using an internet-connected computer and a standard telephone. We recommend that you use a landline for both your phone and your internet connection. This registration is for one person to attend the webinar. We manage our webinars on an honor-system basis; if more than one person from a utility wishes to attend, each is to register separately.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted, with full refund, if request is made at least 30 days prior to the course. Within 30 days, fees are as follows: 15-29 days, $100; 1-14 days or "no show," 100 percent of registration fee. When possible, please send a substitute instead of canceling. NWPPA does not charge a fee for substitutions.
