Course Overview:

This one-day class is intended to provide an overview of the latest industry techniques in substation transformer and single-phase/three-phase load tap changer (LTC) maintenance. The implementation of simple, cost-effective predictive maintenance techniques will be emphasized. Other topics that will be covered include:

  • Equipment oil sampling: correct oil sampling technique, understanding and interpretation of oil test results. Review of portable testing devices.
  • Infrared thermography: basic theory, application and interpretation as applicable to substation equipment.
  • Other techniques include acoustic surveys, headspace gas analysis, basic review of online monitoring systems and other condition assessment techniques.

Registration will begin at 8 a.m., and the course will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Lunch, along with morning and afternoon breaks, will be provided.

NWPPA Hotel Reservation & Cancellation Policy:

All reservations require a non-refundable room deposit equal to one night's stay that will be charged to your credit card at the time your reservation is made. If you cancel or reduce your reservation within seven days of your date of arrival, your credit card will be charged a minimum of a two nights' stay (one night in addition to the first night's deposit).
