Distribution Engineering Series: System Modeling & Analysis and System Planning, July 29 - August 2, 2024

Course Overview:

This two-day course focuses on the application of protective devices within a distribution system. You will discover how to apply best practices for protecting transformers and equipment while maintaining the highest reliability possible, including coordinating with distribution feeders and downline devices.

During this hands-on course, you will examine application considerations of circuit breakers, relays, reclosers, sectionalizers, and fuses; and the methodologies to verify source impedances for system models, the effect of transformer connections on fault current calculations, and the concept of assumed fault impedance. You will then work through problems that reinforce the concepts and topics covered.

Note: This course is part of the Distribution Engineering Series. Sessions in this series may be taken in any order.
