Who Should Attend:
Policymakers, general managers, senior utility leaders, risk managers, and department heads responsible for managing utility risks.
Risk-taking capability is a critical skillset for utilities. This one-day course will explore utility risks and how to prepare and mitigate them; however, it will not focus on processes and procedures. Instead, the workshop will focus on “learnings” from actual utility risks that emerged and how to plan for future potential risk events.
The course will begin with a retrospective of conventional approaches to assuming and managing risks. From there, you will discuss what risks emerged in the past year, how they were managed, and what can be leveraged to prepare for future risk events. The workshop will conclude with brainstorming about how utilities can enhance their preparation for unknown future risks.
Instructor Julie Ryan will provide content and examples, as well as set up activities and smaller breakout discussions for you to network and share experiences with your peers.
The course is only available live; no recording will be made available.
