Course Overview:

Day One: Introduction to Utility Warehousing

The first day is designed to provide individuals with a thorough overview of the logistics and warehousing functions. The course will address the physical and documentation aspects of the processes, including a more specific review of the materials storage, distribution, handling, and receiving process. Also incorporated are overviews of effectively dealing with everyday operations and other stakeholders.

Day Two: Receiving, Shipping, Returns, and Inventory Operations

The second day is designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of the warehouse receiving, shipping, returns, safety, and inventory operations and organization. The course will address the physical aspects and documentation of the processes. Attendees will tour a member warehousing facility to see hands-on application of industry benchmark operations.

Day Three: Inventory Management, Automation, and Supervision

The third day is designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of warehouse inventory management, inventory control, inventory audits, remediation, and warehouse automation. A warehouse improvement case study will be presented and discussed. In addition, the course includes a session on understanding and relating to warehouse management, personal leadership, and supervision requirements.

Course Schedule:

Registration will begin at 8 a.m. on the first day, and the class will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day. Lunch, as well as morning and afternoon breaks, will be provided.

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellations are accepted, with full refund, if request is made at least 30 days prior to the course. Within 30 days, fees are as follows: 15-29 days, $100; 1-14 days or "no show," 100 percent of registration fee. When possible, please send a substitute instead of canceling. NWPPA does not charge a fee for substitutions.

Continuing Hours:

This course qualifies for 18 continuing hours. Certificates are issued upon full completion of the course.
