Who Should Attend:

Employees that transport, load, unload, or receive hazardous materials; and employees that arrange shipping of hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, sign manifests, or prepare bills of lading for shipping hazardous materials.

Overview: 

The federal Department of Transportation regulates the transportation of hazardous materials in accordance with 49 CFR 171. The regulation requires that any employee involved in the transportation of hazardous materials receive training every three years. This includes any employee who transports, loads, unloads, or receives hazardous materials. It also includes anyone who arranges to ship hazardous materials or hazardous wastes, signs manifests, or prepares bills of lading for shipment of hazardous materials.

This eight-hour class will cover an overview of the DOT regulations, security, packaging groups, requirements, waste shipping, PCBs, reportable quantities, bills of lading, materials of trade exemptions, and labeling. Attendees will receive valuable resources, complete a series of workbook exercises to demonstrate proficiency, and receive a certificate of training from NWPPA that meets DOT requirements and is valid for three years.

Note: Organizations that register a group of employees will receive every fifth registration for free. For example, if you register five employees, you only pay for four; register 10 employees, you only pay for eight; and so on. There is nothing additional you need to do to receive this discount.

Cancellation Policy: 

For webinarsvirtual classes, and section meetings: cancellations at least five days prior to the event will receive a full refund; within 1-4 days or no show, the charge will be 100% of the registration fee. 

For in-person events: cancellations at least 30 days prior to the event will receive a full refund; within 15-29 days there will be a $100 fee; and within 1-14 days or no show, the charge will be 100% of the registration fee.

Continuing Hours:
