Who Should Attend:
Policy makers, including board members, commissioners, and general managers; IT managers and staff; engineers; operations staff; risk management personnel; and those who deal with cybersecurity policies and governance.
Workshop Overview:
This workshop will introduce participants to risk management concepts (as they apply to IT/ OT cybersecurity) and how to apply, demonstrate, and create cybersecurity policies and governance structures to manage risks. Discussion will include regulatory compliance and requirements for a risk-based cybersecurity program. Participants will learn about asset and information management concepts and practices, which form the cornerstone of a cybersecurity program.
Specific areas of discussion will include:
- Risk management basics with an emphasis on cybersecurity risk
- Differences between IT and OT security risks, and the impact of IT/OT integration
- Sound security policy and governance models based on risk assessment
- Integrating risk-based policies with legal and regulatory requirements
- Driving ongoing risk management through asset management strategies
- Strategies for deploying cybersecurity governance and policy

Registration will begin at noon, and the workshop will run from 12:30 to 5 p.m. Lunch, as well as an afternoon refreshment break, will be provided.

Cancellation Policy:
Cancellations are accepted, with full refund, if request is made at least 30 days prior to the course. Within 30 days, fees are as follows: 15-29 days, $100; 1-14 days or "no show," 100 percent of registration fee. When possible, please send a substitute instead of canceling. NWPPA does not charge a fee for substitutions.
Continuing Hours:
This workshop qualifies for three continuing hours. Certificates are issued upon full completion of the course.
