Who Should Attend:
Any woman working in public power.
Overview:
This year’s WIPP Conference continues the tradition of honoring issues specific to women from all areas and levels within the public power industry. It is a place for leaders at all levels—whether you are a customer/member service representative, director/commissioner, meter reader, CEO, accountant, purchaser, or any other employee—to network and learn from one another.
Maureen Zappala will kick off the conference with her keynote about imposter syndrome. Zappala, a former NASA propulsion engineer—aka, rocket scientist—and founder of High Altitude Strategies, is an award-winning speaker, author, and presentation skills coach. She works with high-performers to overcome the secret self-doubt of impostor syndrome so they can match their confidence to competence and increase their influence.
During the rest of the conference, you will hear presentations about emotional intelligence, setting boundaries, using artificial intelligence in the workplace, and much more! You’ll also hear from three panels: one exploring the varied career journeys of several women, another featuring women in male-dominated operations roles discussing the rewards and challenges of their jobs, and a third focused on how to lead effectively from any point in your career.
